SDRPY, Authority of Foreign Trade Boost Cooperation to Support Yemen
The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) signed a memorandum of cooperation with the General Authority of Foreign Trade (GAFT) to enhance integration and expand cooperation to serve shared objectives and support development efforts in Yemen.
The memorandum aims to establish joint initiatives to stimulate the private sector, in coordination with relevant Yemeni authorities. It also includes holding conferences, seminars, and meetings to support the private sector, thereby contributing to economic recovery and supporting development and reconstruction efforts in Yemen.
Since its establishment in 2018, SDRPY has supported key sectors through an integrated approach that combines infrastructure development, human capital enhancement, and private-sector empowerment. This has generated job opportunities, strengthened supply chains, and stimulated economic activity through projects implemented with Yemeni contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
The program works in partnership with the UN, international, regional, and local organizations, civil society organizations, and the private sector to promote sustainable development in Yemen.
