The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) held a virtual meeting with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) today. The meeting was chaired by SDRPY Assistant Supervisor General for Institutional Relations and Head of the Communication and International Cooperation Sector Abdullah bin Kadasa and ESCWA Director of the Governance and Conflict Prevention Cluster Dr. Tarik Alami.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation in supporting development efforts in Yemen and explored opportunities to expand areas of joint action.
The meeting builds on the existing partnership between SDRPY and ESCWA, which previously resulted in a joint report on the deteriorating economic situation in the least developed Arab countries and the organization of several specialized workshops.
SDRPY has established approximately 40 active partnerships with local, Yemeni, regional, and international entities. These partnerships fall within a comprehensive strategy to support development efforts in Yemen, in continued collaboration with the Yemeni government and local authorities.
