SDRPY Lays Foundation Stone for Project to Establish Medical College at Taiz University.
The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) laid the foundation stone for a project to build and equip a Medical College at Taiz University.
The initiative aims to enhance higher education and create a suitable environment for students, enabling them to contribute effectively to community development and scientific advancement. It is part of the program's ongoing efforts to support higher and technical education and vocational training, contributing to human development in Yemen by providing qualified medical personnel to deliver high-quality healthcare services.
The project includes the construction and equipping of three colleges: medicine, pharmacy, and nursing. The colleges are expected to bolster the specialized scientific aspect of Taiz University and prepare capable personnel to support Yemen's health sector.
Additionally, the project aims to address the shortage of medical personnel, improve the quality of healthcare services, and enhance scientific research.
SDRPY supports the educational sector in Yemen through 52 development projects and initiatives. These have included supporting the University of Aden with several projects, such as equipping 28 laboratories in the college of pharmacy and the forensic laboratory in the college of law, as well as the development and expansion of Saba University. These projects have contributed to providing a comprehensive educational environment that encourages research, innovation, and creativity.
SDRPY has provided 229 development projects and initiatives, serving the Yemeni people in various key and vital sectors, including education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture and fisheries, capacity building and support for the Yemeni government, and development programs.
