SDRPY Organizes Dialogue Session at WUF13 in Azerbaijan

The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) organized a dialogue session titled “Insights on Urban Recovery From the Experience of the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen” as part of the 13th edition of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Azerbaijan.
The session was held at the Saudi Arabia pavilion participating in the forum.
The session discussed SDRPY's experience, which has formed a model for urban recovery based on linking vital sectors such as energy, water, and transportation as drivers of city stability.
It also highlighted the impact of development projects and initiatives reflected in improving basic services and extending support to the health and education sectors, boosting community resilience, and stimulating commercial and economic activity.
The program's development experience has contributed to enhancing stability and creating conditions for a more sustainable recovery path in the future.
The participation also witnessed the signing of the second-phase agreement for the Adequate Housing project in partnership with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat).
In addition, several meetings were held and an introductory pavilion was established showcasing 287 development projects and initiatives implemented by the program since its establishment in 2018.
The projects cover vital sectors led by education, health, energy, water, and transportation, in addition to agriculture, fisheries, development programs, and the development and support of Yemeni government capacities.
